Flying at Phil's
and monkey butlers in the evening
The Purple Pig is
annual pre-season meeting of Ontario pilots. We usually meet at
Purple Pig restaurant in Aurora north of Toronto about 2 hrs of
driving. I thought it may be nice to combine partying with some
flying on Sat afternoon. I have contacted Phil and inquired about the conditions
of his field and weather it would be OK to come up for flying + sleep
over at his place. He said sure so I was anxiously watching the
forecast for Sat, March 27. It was unbelievable, the whole week was
real crappy but it looked like Sat may be flyable. Sure enough, closer we
got to the date I was realizing that we may be very very lucky. On Sat
morning I have loaded my new
box and headed for Barrie. I had no license plate on the ass of
my new box
so it was free ride on 407, the local paid highway. When I have arrived at
Phil's weather was not the best. Cloud deck was very low but wind is
nice and light. We to go for lunch as conditions are supposed to improve as time
goes on. After lunch we got to the
field. Very gloomy but flyable so we started to set up.

There is Phil with his equipment in background and
my Brontes closer to the camera.

Artsy pic...

No problem taking off I peek down and here is Phil's maple leaf
Silex glider. Nice eh?

Picture of my self. Enough Andre!

...and this is where we were flying from. Al and Petra's
farm. Very nice people. Thanks again for letting us buzz
around. Ray showed up with his Sky Cruiser to do some ground
handling and Bret with a performance glider that was bitch to
inflate and keep overhead.

Phil was totally flying his ass off....

Yap.

Here is Ray with his Sky cruiser and camera man from
local TV station. Ray, me and Phil, made
the news (CKVR Barrie).
